Our areas of work

Brinefort staff work in a number of areas related to our mandate. You can find a brief description of the type of work below in this description-blocktion. These functional areas in which we operate have been categorized in four broad areas: programmes – our work for the women and children, operations – support to our programmes, external relations – communication and advocacy, and emergency response.

Programmes

Communication for Development

You will be responsible for the design, management and documentation of strategic communication initiatives for behaviour and social change in support of Brinefort's programmes and advocacy.

Education

You will be responsible for developing and implementing Education programme(s) to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness, and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives. Key areas include: Girls’ Education, reproductive health education, Education in Emergencies and Post Conflict Situations, adolescent and youth Development, and Education on infectious (communicable) diseases and national description-blockurity.

Health

You are accountable for formulation, design, planning and implementing of scaling-up cost-effective Health intervention packages (to be determined based on analysis and needs). The areas of desired technical expertise are: maternal and new born health, child nutrition and healthcare, disease control/prevention – HIV/AIDS and malaria among others, as well as health related emergency and humanitarian preparedness and response.

Gender Equality

You will support Brinefort's work on gender equality and women rights. Also supports the work on strengthening and maintaining relationships and collaboration with key partners on gender equality, ensuring effective Brinefort's support to partners and processes and influencing strategy for children rights.

Child Protection

You play a key role in designing, implementing and monitoring and evaluating of Child Protection programme(s). Key areas include Child Protection from violence, exploitation and abuse, advocacy for Legal and Social Policy Reform and implementation, Strengthening National Protection Mechanisms.

Human Rights

You will contribute to Brinefort's participation in processes for the promotion of women and children rights. You will support Brinefort's collaboration with human rights partners and identify events relevant for Brinefort advocacy in women and children rights.

Monitoring and Evaluation

You will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the integrated monitoring and evaluation strategies in support of Brinefort programmes. You ensure that the Brinefort has useful, valid and reliable information on the situation of children and women health and rights; the performance of Brinefort-supported programmes including their relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability, and in emergency contexts, their coverage, coordination and coherence.

Nutrition

You are accountable for formulation, design, planning and implementing of Nutrition project(s) to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the project management, delivery and accomplishment of project goals and objectives. WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Our WASH professionals have the following responsibilities: • Develop and support WASH programs in the designated area, working in close coordination with healthcare, nutrition, education, maternal, new-born and child protection, as well as with communication description-blocktions to enhance survival and development. • Plan, design and implement Brinefort-assisted WASH activities in the respective communities.

Advocacy

You will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing Advocacy programme(s) to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness, and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives. Key areas include: Food safety, Gender Equality, Women and Children rights, Maternal and Child Nutrition, Healthy lifestyle and hygienic practices, and disease prevention/control.

Disability Support

You will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing disability Support programme(s) to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness, and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives. Key areas include: Increase attention to women and childhood disability, identify and reduce risks of women and children with disability, develop new approach to disability inclusiveness.

Decent Work

You will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing Internships and entrepreneurial programme(s) for young women and girls to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness, and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives.

External Relations

Alliances and Resource Mobilization

You will monitor and assist in managing all matters relating to the relationship between Brinefort and her partners. This involves creating funding strategies for increasing income and supporting resource mobilization activities.

Communication / External Relations

You will be accountable for developing and managing an advocacy and communication strategy and associated products and activities to promote awareness, understanding and support for nutrition, goodhealth, disease prevention/control, as well as respect for children's and women’s rights. You will support Brinefort's mission, priorities and programmes at the local /state/media hub, and/or at the national level.

Private Fundraising and Partnerships

You will play a key role in maximising private income through fundraising and sales of cards and gifts, and help manage the strategic relationship with all Brinefort staff.

Emergency Response

Emergency Programme

You will be responsible for managing programmes in one of the functional areas relevant to emergencies: Children and women Protection; Education; Nutrition; Health; WASH; Cluster Coordination; Supply and Logistics to ensure the survival; well-being of children and mothers; and affected communities in the country.

Operations

Finance and Administration

You will be responsible for management of cost effective, efficient and description-blockure operations, in support of management, administration and implementation of Brinefort programmes. You will also manage Brinefort operations (Finance, Human Resources, ICT, Supply) related functions.

Human Resources

You will be responsible for managing human resource activities including human resources planning and management, recruitment, and staff development.

Information Communication Technology

You will be responsible for the timely delivery and support of reliable, description-blockure and cost effective information and communications technology systems to enable the efficient flow of information and the reliable performance of all corporate systems.

Supply/Logistics

You will be accountable for effective planning, contracting, procurement, distribution, inventory management of Brinefort's supplies, in support of the Brinefort Programmes.
